Trip Out West: Day 2

Day two (9/17/17) started out at the Biosphere 2 and this was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The Biosphere 2 mission went from 1991-1994 and was set up in to be a human experiment where people would research and develop a "self-sustaining space-colonization technology." People were locked in this environment for two years and see if they could survive.  The University of Arizona now owns it as of July 2011.

After visiting the Biosphere, we headed out to the Casa Grande National Monument. The ruins were very cool and were built 500-1000 years ago. I couldn't believe how well it has been preserved. This was the part of the trip where I decided to collect patches. I wanted to collect something unique from the sites we saw.

The next stop was the Meteor Crater. It is a huge ass hole that was the result of astroid that plowed into earth at 26,000 miles per hour approximately 50,000 years ago.  It was really an amazing site, oh, and super windy.

Our last stop was Standin' On The Corner park. It is right off Route 66 and is the best thing (and the only good thing) about Winslow. Free tip: Don't go to the Denny's.

We saw so much and had another jam packed day ahead of us early the next morning!
