Manchester City Marathon: One Week To Go!

Well, it's exactly one week until the Manchester City Marathon! I can't believe it, where did the time go? We are leaving from Raleigh on Halloween night (yes, our eleven-year wedding anniversary) and have a direct flight to Boston. I'm so excited to see my family and Denise, Roy and Bronson, who will be meeting us up there.

My last run yesterday was supposed to be nine miles, but I think I did about seven or eight. I was so tired of hearing my watch beep my intervals and worrying about time, that I just ran and enjoyed my last long run before the race. I was supposed to run with my new Sandisk Sport Clip player, but I totally forgot. I felt bad because Matt spent a lot of time transferring music and podcasts for me.

Yesterday was our annual Pumpkin Carving at the Matheson's. I have carved one once years ago, and that was enough for me, everyone else pretty much does one every year.

If you missed it last week's interview was with KD Robinson, so make sure you check that out. I also added an extra blog about racing signs because I love reading them while I'm running. This week's interview is with Brain Baleno who ran a half marathon in all fifty states, including the Manchester City Marathon Half. Very cool!

I'm going to try and post a blog the night before the race. I'm hoping David Mcgillivray will sign my copy of his book for me at the expo. If you haven't read his interview for my blog, check it out here.

So, that's it! Here's to a successful race day! Good luck to everyone running, walking and crawling to the finish line!

  1. I'll have to look for McGillivray (and his book) at the expo! I ran the half a couple of years ago…enjoy the hills :)
